CHESTERTON, Ind. -- It was a cold and blustery day in Northern Indiana as the Sycamores battled the Missouri Valley Conference membership in the first two rounds of the MVC Fall Preview at the Sand Creek Golf Club. The course is playing as a par-72, 6,074-yard layout this week.

The teams bundled up at 9:30 am (ET) for a shotgun start and 36 holes of golf. The Sycamores posted a round of 338 in the morning and came back with a mark of 333 in the afternoon as their total of 671 is in seventh place. ISU is ahead of Loyola (673) and host Valparaiso (698) on the team leader board. Evansville is not participating. Missouri State tallied rounds of 324 and 318 for a total of 642 to lead over Bradley by one stroke. Illinois State carded a round of 647 and is in third place. Drake is in sixth place with rounds of 330 and 337 for a total of 667 and is four shots ahead of ISU. The Sycamores trail Northern Iowa by nine strokes (662) for a spot in the Top 5. Southern Illinois owned rounds of 325 and 334 for a total of 659.

Abigail Irwin rebounded from a morning round of 89 to post a 78 in the afternoon for a total of 167 and a a tie for 21st place. Kayla Ryan owned rounds of 83 and 85 for a total of 168 which is tied for 24th place. Sierra Hargens who has finished inside the Top 20 in each of her first three events of the fall also posted scores of 83 and 85 for a total of 168 and is also tied for 24th place. 

Thilda Staubo opened play with a round of 84 and followed that up with an 86 for a total of 170 and is tied for 31st place. Lauren Green tallied a score of 88 and came back with an 85 in the afternoon for a total of 173 and is tied for 38th place.

Sophie Benetti played as an individual with rounds of 87 and 82 for a total of 169 and a tie for 27th place. Madison Branum also played as an individual with rounds of 89 and 85 for a total of 174 and a tie for 41st place.

The third and final round is set for Tuesday, October 16. Tee-time will begin at 9:30 a.m. (ET) off both the No. 1 and No. 10 tees.
