TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State baseball team had four players tally multi-hit games on Wednesday as the Sycamores opened the month of May with a 7-0 shutout of the DePauw Tigers on Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stadium.

The win snaps Indiana State's five-game losing streak and improves the Sycamores to an even 18-18 on the season. DePauw drops to 16-21 overall.

The Sycamores took the lead in the opening inning as redshirt sophomore Connor McClain and redshirt senior Koby Kraemer drew back-to-back walks with one out. Redshirt sophomore Jacob Hayes drove home McClain on a two-out single to right.

Indiana State held that one-run lead until the fifth inning when redshirt sophomore Derek Hannahs scored from first on sophomore Landon Curry's triple to right-center. Curry scored when junior Owen Conway pinch-hit next and grounded out to short for a 3-0 ISU lead.

The Sycamores tacked on two more runs in the sixth and scored one run in both the seventh and eighth innings. The shutout was the second for the season for ISU.

Curry (2-for-5), Kraemer (2-for-3), Hayes (2-for3) and junior Mike Fitzgerald (2-for-4) all tallied multi-hit games with Fitzgerald leading the team with a pair of RBIs. Hannahs extended his team-leading hitting streak to seven games on a leadoff single in the fifth.

Redshirt sophomore Greg Kuhlman (2-1) started for Indiana State and earned the victory, allowing two hits over three shutout innings. Six Sycamore relievers combined to allow six hits over the final six innings.

Indiana State returns to Missouri Valley Conference play this weekend, hosting the Evansville Purple Aces on Friday through Sunday. Friday's game is Military Appreciation Night, where members of the military can receive four free tickets to the game by showing their military ID at the gate. Saturday's game will be broadcast locally in the Wabash Valley on WTWO-TV.
