PEORIA, Ill.—The Indiana State volleyball team (3-18, 1-10 MVC) had three players reach double figure kills led by freshman Victoria Swigart's double double, but the Sycamores fell to the Braves of Bradley (8-14, 2-9 MVC) 3-0 Friday in Peoria.

In the first set, neither team could get an advantage as both teams traded points. The set saw 10 ties before either team scored more than 12 points, with the last coming at 12-12. The Braves then went on a run and pulled out to a 15-12 lead before a kill by Swigart helped cut the Braves lead to 16-14.

The Sycamores rallied back to tie the set at 21-21 before the the Braves won the set 25-23 to take a 1-0 set lead.

The Braves jumped out to an early advantage in the second set before three kills by junior Molly Murphy and a kill by Swigart cut the Braves advantage to 6-4. The Sycamores could never fully close the gap and fell in the second set 25-17.

Again in the third set the Braves took a slight lead over the Sycamores before a kill by Swigart tied the set up at 7-7. The Braves then went on a run and pulled out to a 22-16 lead before a kill by freshman Cassandra Willis and ace by freshman Erika Nord helped close the gap. The Braves went on to win the set, however, 25-20, and the match 3-0.

Senior Shea Doran and junior Molly Murphy each recorded 11 kills for the Sycamores while Swigart had 10 kills and 11 digs.

The Sycamores will return to action Friday when they travel to face the Redbirds of Illinois State in Normal, Ill.
