ST. LOUIS -- Jordan Printy has been selected the Prairie Farms/Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week, Commissioner Doug Elgin announced today. Printy was honored for his performance during the period of December 12-18. Kelsey Budd of Bradley was the female recipient of this week's league-wide honor.

Now in its 13th year of existence, The Valley's Scholar-Athlete program is sponsored by Prairie Farms, Roberts and Hiland Dairies. On a weekly basis, the Conference honors its student-athletes for their athletic performance for a one-week period and academic success in the classroom.

Printy, a senior from Marion, Iowa, was one of four Sycamores to score in double figures, as he posted 11 points in ISU's 61-55 win at 25th-ranked Vanderbilt on December 17.

Printy, who has a 3.75 cumulative grade-point average in education, hit 4-of-7 field goal attempts, including 3-of-5 from three-point range, added five rebounds and forced three steals, as Indiana State recorded its first top 25 win since a 72-64 triumph against 14th-ranked Butler in 2006.

To qualify for Prairie Farms/Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week laurels, student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20, completed at least one academic year at a Valley institution and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing. Redshirt freshmen and first-year junior college transfers are not eligible. In addition to the academic qualifications, student-athletes will be evaluated on their athletic performance for a one-week period.
