ST. LOUIS - Indiana State men's basketball wrapped up the 2025-26 season with a loss to No. 7 Valparaiso, 63-62, in the 2026 State Farm MVC Tournament on Thursday night. The Sycamores ended the season with an 11-21, 4-16 MVC record.
Camp Wagner led the Sycamores in both scoring and rebounding with 13 points and eight rebounds, adding in four assists.
Ian Scott followed with 12 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three blocks.
Enel St. Bernard finished with 10 points on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting from the field with six rebounds, four steals, an assist, and a block.
The game started in favor of the Sycamores, holding a 9-6 lead at the first media timeout and 16-8 just above the 12-minute mark in the half. Valpo tied the game at 18 apiece midway through the first half. Indiana State used a 9-1 run from 8:07-3:05 to take a 30-21 lead. Each team scored seven points apiece as Indiana State took a 37-28 lead into the halftime break.
Valparaiso came close twice within the first four minutes of the second half, but the Sycamores led 41-38. Following a pair of Valpo free throws, Indiana State built to a 50-40 lead with 13 minutes on the clock.
Camp Wagner made a three with 8:06 on the clock, and at the 5:17 mark
Ian Scott made a layup. That Scott layup ended up being the final field goal for the Sycamores.
The Beacons closed the game on a 10-2 run, but the Sycamores' two points came from a pair of free throws by
Bruno Alocen at the 4:34 mark. Indiana State made 0-of-5 from the field in the stretch, as Valparaiso took the 63-62 victory.
