Indiana State set to host Saint Mary-of-the-Woods on Thursday night

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State returns to Memorial Stadium on Thursday night for a 7 p.m. matchup against Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, looking to build on the strong stretches of play shown in Sunday's home opener against Western Kentucky. The Sycamores controlled tempo for long portions of the match, generated multiple attacking chances, and displayed the type of defensive organization that continues to define their identity early in the season. Despite the narrow 1–0 result, ISU's performance carried plenty of positives that set the tone heading into Thursday's contest.

Against WKU, Indiana State's back line and midfield were composed and disciplined, limiting the Lady Toppers to selective opportunities and forcing them into low-percentage looks. Goalkeeper Sofie Zoëga Hansen delivered another steady outing, making key saves in both halves to keep the Sycamores within reach. ISU's attack produced promising moments as well, with chances from Alex Lehnert, Quinn Urquhart, Tori Angelo, Peyton Wetzel, and Addyson Warner highlighting the group's ability to create pressure and find rhythm in the attacking third. The Sycamores pushed late, earning throw-ins and free kicks in dangerous areas, showing resilience and urgency that they aim to carry into Thursday night.

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods enters Thursday's match looking to test itself against Division I competition and brings a disciplined, energetic group to Terre Haute. Their visit adds a local rivalry feel to the matchup, giving both programs a valuable early-season test. For Indiana State, the meeting offers an opportunity to establish tempo early, apply pressure in the attacking third, and convert the momentum built against WKU into a strong performance at home.
