TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's track and field's
Emma Yoder was named this week's Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced by the athletic department Monday afternoon.
Yoder posted season-best efforts in a pair of events at the Gibson Invitational, finishing second in the hammer throw with a career-best toss of 61.35m (201-3) and first in the discus with a season-best mark of 47.45m (155-8). The sophomore had a pair of throws go past the 60-meter mark in the hammer (61.35m/201-3 and 60.58m/198-7), becoming the first athlete in the MVC to break 60 meters in the hammer throw this season while moving into the top five in program history in the event. Her mark in the hammer was a career-best by more than three meters, while her discus mark was a season-best by nearly two meters.
In addition to owning the top mark in the Missouri Valley Conference in the hammer, Yoder also ranks third in the discus and 11th in the shot put. Yoder's hammer throw mark currently ranks first in the Great Lakes Region, 19th in NCAA East Qualifying and 41st nationally. Her discus mark ranks 17th in the Great Lakes Region.
The Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2025-26 athletic season.
