TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State is back on the road for a Tuesday night matchup at Alexander Field as the Sycamores take on Purdue to complete the home-and-home series against the Boilermakers. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. ET and will be carried live on B1G+ and 105.5 The Legend.
Recapping The Weekend
- Indiana State swept their way past Wright State over the weekend series in Dayton, Ohio and Nischwitz Stadium as the Sycamores claimed the doubleheader win on Friday, before securing the series sweep on Sunday afternoon.
- The Sycamores won a marathon contest on Friday afternoon in the series opener as Indiana State rallied to win an 8-7, 14-inning thriller capped by Mason Roell's RBI single, while Nomar Garcia was clutch with the glove late.
- Indiana State continued their winning ways in the Friday night cap as Caden Miller and Nick Sutherlin connected on back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning to swing a 3-1 deficit to a 4-3 advantage, and the duo were back to drive in runs again in the ninth inning to secure the series victory.
- Sunday's series finale saw Indiana State again rally back in the sixth inning as Mason Roell put the Sycamores in the lead with a two-run double to the wall in left center, before Carter Beck homered to the scoreboard to make it a 9-6 game. Indiana State rallied with two additional runs late to secure the 11-8 win.
- Emil Estrella had a weekend to remember as the slugger hit .462 from the plate with a team-high six hits and three stolen bases.
- Jeremy Martinez (.444) also hit above the .400 mark on the week with a double and two RBIs, while catching the first and third games of the weekend series.
- Caden Miller (.333) was constantly on the base paths with a team-high .647 on-base percentage after drawing seven walks and getting hit by a pitch, while adding his home run in the Friday night contest.
- Nick Sutherlin also homered and drove in four RBIs while playing a perfect first base.
- Carter Beck homered twice over the weekend and finished with a team-high five RBIs, while also drawing five walks and stealing two bases.
- Overall, the Sycamores hit .282 from the plate on the weekend and added 10 stolen bases over 11 attempts.
- The Indiana State pitching staff combined for a 4.50 ERA with 12 different arms seeing time on the mound in the game. Justin Hoff and Colby Morse both made two appearances each and both recorded saves, while Owen Roberts, Carson Seeman, and Brady Banker all recorded wins on the mound.
Season Spotlight
- Mason Roell (.396) continues to lead the Indiana State offense after missing two games from getting hit by a pitch at Illinois State. The third baseman was back in the lineup this past weekend against Wright State and continues to pace the Sycamores in on-base percentage (.513) and slugging percentage (.740), while adding eight home runs, 30 RBIs, and seven doubles over 28 games played.
- Carter Beck (.345) continues to add to his legacy with the Sycamores as the junior outfielder paces Indiana State in multi-hit games (20), multi-RBI contests (11), and is currently on a 24-game on-base streak dating back to March 13 against Gonzaga.
- Beck reached double-digit home runs with two over the weekend at Wright State to sit with 11 and currently leads the Sycamores with 14 doubles, 45 runs scored, and 44 RBIs, while adding eight stolen bases.
- Colin Sander (.330) and Emil Estrella (.312) are also hitting above the .300 mark on the season with Esterlla leading the team with 12 stolen bases, while Sander has 12 extra-base hits and 21 RBIs over 22 games played.
- Jeremy Martinez (.292), Nick Sutherlin (.283), and Caden Miller (.279) are also among the team's power leaders with the trio combining for 15 home runs, 30 doubles, and 90 RBIs in the middle of the Sycamore lineup.
- Overall, Indiana State is hitting .286 as a team from the plate with a .387 on-base percentage and a .488 slugging percentage.
- The Sycamores remain 10th in the NCAA Division I in team doubles with 92 on the season, while sitting 31st in hits (405), 43rd in home runs (56), 43rd in runs scored (311), and 15th in triples (13).

Caleb Niehaus connected on the big hit with a three-run double down the third base line, while Caden Miller added a three-run home run in the frame.
- Carter Beck, Caden Miller, Mason Roell, Colin Sander, and Caleb Niehaus all had multi-hit games for Indiana State. The Sycamores combined for six extra-base hits with Miller's home run highlighting the day, while Beck added a triple off the wall in right center and Miller, Roell, and Niehaus (2) all doubled.
- Carson Seeman picked up the win after going a scoreless third inning, while Jaxon Sparks and Trevor Fenters added scoreless innings on the mound.
- The Sycamore pitching staff combined to allow seven hits in the contest while striking out 10 Boilermakers.
