Sycamores open Valley play with weekend series against Bradley

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State baseball opens Missouri Valley play this weekend as the Sycamores host Bradley in a three-game series set for March 20-22 at Bob Warn Field. All three games will be streamed live via ESPN+ and 105.5 The Legend.
 
First pitch in Friday's opener is set for 6:30 p.m., with Saturday (2 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.) both early afternoon contests at The Bob.

Recapping The Midweek
  • Indiana State claimed the midweek win over Illinois this past Wednesday night as the Sycamores topped the visiting Illini in 11 innings at Bob Warn Field with the 4-3 victory.
  • Emil Estrella capped off a three-hit day with the walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning driving in Caleb Niehaus to provide the game-winning run.
  • Ten different Indiana State pitchers saw time on the mound on Wednesday night as the Sycamores utilized the staff in a true bullpen game.
  • Eight different Sycamores worked exactly 1.0 innings from the first through the eighth inning, before Carson Seeman took over in the ninth.

  • Caden Miller (.300) is also hitting above the .300 mark on the season and enters the weekend on a 12-game on-base streak.
  • Carter Beck (.293) and Emil Estrella (.289) are the team's power leaders at the plate with the duo combining for 12 extra-base hits on the season. Beck has eight doubles, a triple, and three homers, while Estrella has added six doubles, two triples, and four home runs.
  • Nick Sutherlin (.260) is also among the team's leaders sitting tied with Estrella with a team-high four home runs, while matching Caden Miller for the team lead with 21 RBIs.
  • The Sycamores feature seven players with multiple stolen bases over the 2026 season including a team-leading five from both Emil Estrella and Mason Roell.
  • Indiana State also features Carter Beck (3), Nick Sutherlin (3), and Jorge Cartagena (3) among the steals leaders on the season.
  • Indiana State leads the Missouri Valley in team doubles (45) and doubles per game (2.25), with Carter Beck leading the MVC individually in doubles with eight.

Sycamores Against Bradley

  • Bradley claimed the series over the Sycamores last season at Mt. Dew Park in Marion, Ill. as the Braves took the first two games with 8-7 and 7-3 wins, before Indiana State secured the series final, 4-2.

About the Braves
  • Bradley was not recognized among the five teams selected by the Missouri Valley coaches in the annual preseason poll.
  • The Braves placed five athletes on the preseason team with Mack Brousseau (C), AJ Garcia (OF), Hayden Miller (Util.), William Soignier (P), and Josh Vaughn (P) on the preseason MVC team.
  • Bradley enters the weekend with a 4-16 overall record on the year with all games coming on the road to start the 2026 season.
  • The Braves picked up wins over Bethune-Cookman, SIUE, and took two of three to claim the series from UT Martin.

Indiana State Baseball Season Tickets on Sale Now
Season tickets for the 2026 Indiana State baseball season are now on sale as the Sycamores head into their second season under Head Coach Tracy Archuleta. The Sycamores will play 21 home games inside Bob Warn Field this season, starting on March 4 against Lindenwood.
 
Reserved chairback season tickets can be purchased for $110. General admission season tickets will go on sale as well with adult ($75), seniors ($55), and youth ($40) tickets also being available for purchase. There will be a $5 surcharge added to those wanting tickets printed.
 
The Sycamores have teamed up with Pacesetter Sports and the Spirit Shop for the third consecutive season for a season ticket deal. Fans will receive a $50 Pacesetter gift card for each $110 reserved chairback season ticket, $35 gift card for each $75 general admission season ticket, $25 gift card for each $55 senior general admission ticket, and $20 gift card for each $40 youth season ticket sold.
