TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State is set to make its home debut this weekend as the Sycamores return from a 16-game road trip to open the 2026 season with a three-game series at Bob Warn Field against Gonzaga.
First pitch in Friday's opening contest is set for 5 p.m., while Saturday will start at 2 p.m. and the Sunday finale will begin at noon. Sunday's contest will be streamed live via ESPN+, while all three games will be carried on 105.5 The Legend.
Recapping The Midweek
- Indiana State dropped the Tuesday night contest at Vanderbilt as the Sycamores fell in Hawkins Field to the Commodores, 14-6.
- The Sycamores went up 6-2 in the top of the fifth inning as Indiana State sent 10 batters to the plate and scored five runs to take the lead.
- Jeremy Martinez, Eddie Alonso, and Caden Miller all recorded doubles in the inning with Miller's a bases-loaded, two-run double down the left field line to provide the final two runs in the frame.
- Vanderbilt responded with a six-run rally in the bottom of the fifth as the Commodores took advantage of a pair of Indiana State errors to take the lead back. Vanderbilt would go on to add to their lead with two runs in the sixth and four in the seventh to provide the final 14-6 margin.
- Caden Miller's pair of doubles highlighted the Sycamores' six hits in the game, while Emil Estrella drew a pair of walks, stole a base, and scored two runs.
- Spencer Johnsen worked 3.1 innings in the start allowing two hits and two runs while striking out three.
- Colby Morse, Breyllin Suriel, Carson Seeman, Trevor Fenters, Brady Banker, and Jacob Spencer all saw time on the mound in the game, with Spencer going the final 1.2 innings in shutout relief.

- Caden Miller (.310) and Jeremy Martinez (.304) are both hitting over .300 on the season through the first 16 games of the year.
- Caden Miller has been on a tear from the plate recently with an eight-game hitting streak following his pair of doubles on Tuesday night against Vanderbilt.
- Jeremy Martinez's last four hits have gone for extra bases with three doubles and a triple over contests against Western Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
- Carter Beck's 20-game on-base streak came to an end on Tuesday night against Vanderbilt, but the junior outfielder continues to sit among the team leaders in batting average (.281), hits (18), doubles (6), and RBIs (11).
- Emil Estrella continues to lead the team in extra base hits with nine on the season and has added a team-high four stolen bases to go with 13 runs and 13 RBIs.
- The Sycamores are the Missouri Valley leader in team doubles (38) and doubles per game (2.38), sitting in the top 25 in the NCAA Division I in both categories.

Sycamores Against Gonzaga
- Indiana State and Gonzaga have lined up against each other twice in their respective program histories with Gonzaga holding the 2-0 record all-time in the matchup.
- The teams first lined up on March 10, 1997, in Fresno, Calif. at the Pepsi/Johnny Quick Classic with Gonzaga taking the 18-8 victory.
- Three years later on March 6, 2000, the Sycamores and the Bulldogs met again at the Pepsi/Johnny Quick Classic in Fresno, Calif. with Gonzaga taking the 10-6 victory.
Sycamores Against the West Coast Conference
- Indiana State has a 5-4 record all-time against members of the West Coast Conference.
- The 2026 season marks the second consecutive season the Sycamores have taken on a WCC team at home in a weekend series after hosting Pacific last season at Bob Warn Field.
- Indiana State went 2-1 against the Tigers winning 5-3 on Friday and 12-2 on Sunday, while falling 14-2 in Saturday's contest.
- Indiana State has also posted wins over Loyola Marymount (1-0), Portland (1-0), and San Diego (1-0)
About the Bulldogs
- Gonzaga enters the weekend series with a 4-10 overall record on the season, and like the Sycamores, have yet to play a home game in their home facility in Spokane, Washington.
- The Bulldogs have recorded wins over Hawaii, Texas State, Oklahoma, and Creighton at the time of this posting with a Wednesday contest against Minnesota still to play before the weekend.
- Gonzaga was selected to finish second overall in the West Coast Conference's preseason baseball poll after receiving four first-place votes and 73 total points to finish behind San Diego.

Season tickets for the 2026 Indiana State baseball season are now on sale as the Sycamores head into their second season under Head Coach
Tracy Archuleta. The Sycamores will play 21 home games inside Bob Warn Field this season, starting on March 4 against Lindenwood.
Reserved chairback season tickets can be purchased for $110. General admission season tickets will go on sale as well with adult ($75), seniors ($55), and youth ($40) tickets also being available for purchase. There will be a $5 surcharge added to those wanting tickets printed.
The Sycamores have teamed up with Pacesetter Sports and the Spirit Shop for the third consecutive season for a season ticket deal. Fans will receive a $50 Pacesetter gift card for each $110 reserved chairback season ticket, $35 gift card for each $75 general admission season ticket, $25 gift card for each $55 senior general admission ticket, and $20 gift card for each $40 youth season ticket sold.
