EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Ali Pearson claimed the 100-yard Breaststroke title and
Haley Halsall finished second in the 200-yard Fly as Indiana State wrapped up the third day of the 2026 Missouri Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday night inside the Deaconess Aquatic Center.
Pearson took the top overall seed in the 100-yard Breaststroke following her morning session swim of 1:01.37, and then carried the momentum into the evening in securing her first individual win of the 2026 championships. She went 1:01.52 to top the field and secure the Sycamores' third title of the week joining
Grace Cummings (500 Freestyle) and the 200 Medley Relay win.
Halsall placed second overall in the 200-yard Fly as the senior posted Indiana State's second sub-2:00 minute time in program history going 1:59.82 in the event. She was narrowly edged out atop the podium by SIU's Olivia Heron (1:59.75) for the individual win.

Haley Halsall nearly matched her Indiana State record in the 200-yard Fly to highlight Indiana State's efforts in the first A-Finals of the evening as the senior placed second overall in the field in 1:59.82.
Gemma Dilks placed sixth in 2:02.16, while
Raine Boles finished eighth in the heat with a time of 2:05.00.
Sophia Diaz powered her way back through the field in the B-Finals to win the heat and finish ninth overall in 2:02.32.
Ali Pearson claimed the 100-yard Breaststroke title on Friday evening as the graduate student nearly matched her preliminary time in claiming her first individual win of the week. Pearson went out in 1:01.52 to claim the event by .65 seconds over SIU's Ava Rines.
Jenna Nave claimed the B-Final win with a time of 1:03.60.
The Sycamores put together a strong finish in the C-Finals in the 100-yard Backstroke with
Anna Asplund winning the heat in 56.68, while
Sara Keefe finished third in 56.83.
Sahara Visscher rounded out the group in 57.80.
Indiana State wrapped up the night placing fourth overall in the 800-yard Freestyle Relay as the Sycamores touched the wall in 7:17.35 as
Grace Cummings,
Erin Cummins,
Claire Parsons, and
Maria Saldana Riebeling took on the field.

Friday Morning Recap
Indiana State opened up the day with a dominant display in the 200-yard Fly preliminaries as the Sycamores nearly put four swimmers in the A-Finals in the morning session.
Haley Halsall (2:00.39),
Raine Boles (2:02.92), and
Gemma Dilks (2:04.28) all advanced in the top eight heading into the evening's finals, while
Sophia Diaz (2:04.60) finished ninth to lead the B-Finals heading into the evening session.
Ali Pearson put together the top overall performance in the 100-yard Breaststroke event on Friday morning. The graduate student will head into the evening session as the No. 1 seed in the event after going 1:01.37 to lead the A-Final field.
Jenna Nave advanced in the B-Finals with a time of 1:04.22.
The Sycamores wrapped up the morning session putting three in the C-Finals in the 100-yard Backstroke.
Anna Asplund topped the group in 57.11, while
Sara Keefe (57.32) and
Sahara Visscher (57.52) will also go in the evening event.
Kate Reeves (56.65) closed out the group in the 100-yard Backstroke with an exhibition swim.
