TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer's Kaitlynn Long was named this week's Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced by the athletic department Monday afternoon.
 
Long played a role in two of Indiana State's three goals over the course of the week, as the Sycamores extended their unbeaten run to eight matches and moved to 1-0-2 in MVC play. The sophomore forward tallied a goal and an assist in just 49 minutes of action over the week.
 
The Springboro, Ohio, native helped secure a point for the Blue and White with an equalizing goal midway through the second half of the Sycamores' 1-1 home draw with UIC. Long's shot from just outside the corner of the 18-yard box beat the goalkeeper to her near side to draw Indiana State level and earn a result at home in conference play.
 
Long also provided an assist on Indiana State's second goal of the Sycamores' 2-0 road win over in-state rival Evansville. After Long's initial shot was saved, Skylar Cano buried the rebound attempt into the bottom corner to ease any doubt about the result.
 
Through the first 13 matches of the season, Long is tied for fifth on the team with seven points (two goals, three assists) despite playing less than 350 minutes for the campaign.
 
The Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2025-26 athletic season.
