TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State volleyball's Kira Holland was named this week's Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced by the athletic department Monday afternoon.
 
Holland helped lead the Sycamores to a perfect 3-0 weekend at the Tiger Invitational in Nashville, Indiana State's first 3-0 tournament weekend since the 2021 season. She averaged nearly four kills and four digs per set for the weekend as Indiana State downed Tennessee State (three sets), Idaho (four sets) and Chattanooga (five sets).
 
The Medina, Ohio, native recorded her first career 20-20 match and the first 20-20 for a Sycamore since October 2022 with career highs of 22 kills and 21 digs in the win over Chattanooga. Holland picked up her fifth double-double of the season in the process, and was crucial in the fifth set with four kills in the final five points to secure the victory for the Blue and White.
 
Holland opened the week with her most efficient outing of the season, hitting .462 with 14 kills on 26 attempts in a three-set sweep of Tennessee State. She followed it with 11 kills and 16 digs in the four-set win over Idaho before her career-best showing in the five-set thriller against Chattanooga.
 
Holland leads the Sycamores with five double-doubles this season, with four of those coming in the last five matches. She leads all Missouri Valley Conference athletes and ranks in the top 30 nationally with 180 kills, while her 4.00 kills per set for the season are second in the conference and inside the top 75 in the nation.
 
The Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2025-26 athletic season.
