Woods named to United Soccer Coaches Players to Watch List

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer's Brooklyn Woods was named to one of the United Soccer Coaches' Women's Players to Watch lists as one of the top defenders returning to the pitch for the upcoming 2025 intercollegiate season.

The lists are compiled and released by the Division I All-America Committees to promote college soccer leading up to the official start date for the regular season later this month. The lists include United Soccer Coaches All-Americans and All-Region players from 2024 who are scheduled to return for the 2025 season.

Woods, the lone Missouri Valley player on the list, is coming off a 2024 season where the senior defender earned All-Midwest Region honors for the first time in her collegiate career. The Waukee, Iowa native scored three goals, all from corner kicks, while registering three assists and 31 shots over the season. She added the game-winning goal on August 22 against Miami (Ohio).

She tied for fifth overall in the Missouri Valley in shots on goal (21), while lining up and starting 20 matches over the 2024 season. She finished playing a total of 1,724 minutes on the pitch including going all 90 minutes in the final 17 matches of the season.

"Entering the 2025 season, these previous honorees represent some of the best at their positions," said Ralph Polson, Senior College All-America Administrator. "As pre-season training opens, we are pleased to recognize these outstanding student-athletes from our member schools. I would like to thank Jennifer Rockwood, DI Women's All-America Chair, Ryan Hopkins, DI Men's All-America Chair, and their respective committees for their efforts in compiling these lists."

Indiana State opens up the 2025 season with an exhibition match on Sunday, August 10, at Memorial Stadium against SIUE with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
