ISU showed solid defensive effort in the first half but couldn't overcome the Jaguars' offensive pressure. Alicia Perez made several key saves in goal, but IU Indy broke through in the 39th minute and added two more goals late in the second half to seal the victory. Despite the loss, ISU remained competitive, registering five shots on goal, but couldn't find the back of the net.
The Sycamores will look to bounce back and finish their regular-season home schedule strong, especially as they honor their senior class. Key leaders like Brooklyn Woods and Alex Lehnert will be at the center of Sunday's festivities, as they play their final regular-season home match.
Western Illinois (2-3-0) enters the matchup looking to break a four-match losing streak, following a narrow 5–0 loss to Illinois State in their most recent game. The Leathernecks have faced difficulties on the road this season, but will aim to turn things around and challenge the Sycamores with a strong team effort.
Sunday's match will be a special occasion as Indiana State honors its senior class in a celebration of their contributions to the program. The Sycamores will look to deliver a strong performance, showcasing the leadership and dedication of their senior players, while making the most of this emotional and memorable night.
