TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer's
Brooklyn Woods was named this week's Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced by the athletic department Monday afternoon.
Woods scored in both ends of the Sycamores' two-match road trip to Tennessee, tapping in a rebound at Chattanooga and netting a go-ahead goal in a 2-2 draw at Middle Tennessee. She also assisted on the Sycamores' opening goal at Middle Tennessee moments before halftime.
The Waukee, Iowa, native led Indiana State with three shots on goal across the Sycamores' two matches and tallied a team-leading five points (two goals, one assist) across the two contests. She was one of three Sycamores to play the full 90 minutes in both matches during the week.
Woods got her name on the scoresheet 59 minutes into Thursday's match at Chattanooga, following up on her attempt from the spot as the Sycamores nearly came back from a three-goal deficit on the road.
The senior defender played a role in both Sycamore goals in Sunday's contest at Middle Tennessee, with her long free kick finding
Anna Chor at the back post to equalize just seconds before halftime. Woods then gave Indiana State a lead on the road for the first time this season, with her penalty kick finding the bottom right corner 10 minutes into the second half.
The Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2025-26 athletic season.
