Hood Jr. named GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State men's track and field's Casey Hood Jr. was named this week's GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.
 
Casey Hood Jr. made an early statement at the Ole Miss Classic, winning the 100m and anchoring the Sycamores' first-place 4x100m relay team. Hood Jr. clocked a wind-legal 10.22 in the 100m, the second-fastest time in program history and more than two-tenths of a second faster than his previous best. Indiana State's 4x100m relay won with a time of 40.19, the seventh-fastest time in program history and the fastest season-opening 4x1 time in program history. 
 
Hood Jr.'s 100m time is fifth among all wind-legal times in the nation, and it also ranks first in the MVC, fourth in the Great Lakes Region, 20th in NCAA East Qualifying and 26th nationally. Indiana State's 4x100m relay team ranks first in the MVC, fifth in the Great Lakes Region, 27th in NCAA East Qualifying and 52nd nationally.
 
The GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2024-25 athletic season.
