Sycamores' swing trip set to start at Drake on Saturday

DES MOINES, Iowa – Indiana State men's basketball hits the road for a two-game swing trip to Iowa, tipping off first against Drake University on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET. The game airs on ESPN+ and 105.5 The Legend.
 
In the last time on the court, Indiana State handled the Valparaiso Beacons, 80-62. Camp Wagner led the Sycamores in scoring with 22 points for the second-straight game. He knocked down six three-pointers setting a new career high. Samage Teel scored 17 points, dishing out nine assists. Aaron Gray scored 13 points on 6-for-8 shooting, putting down seven rebounds. K'mani Doughty was one rebound shy of a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds, a career high in rebounds for the graduate senior.
 
Saturday evening's matchup will be the 102nd meeting between the two teams, and the history has been neck-and-neck. Drake leads the series 52-49 after winning the last two times on the court. When playing in Des Moines, the Bulldogs hold a 33-13 advantage.
 
The Sycamores and Bulldogs met three weeks ago on January 18 in Terre Haute, and Drake left with a 71-53 victory. It was the lowest scoring mark of the season for the Sycamores, shooting 36.0% from the floor and 17.4% from three.

Three players are averaging 13.0+ points per game in the last five games. Camp Wager (16.0) leads the team in the span shooting 44.6% from the floor and 43.8% from deep. K'mani Doughty needs two three-pointers to reach 100 made threes in his career. With 28 made threes this season, he has passed his total from each of his previous four seasons of collegiate basketball.
 
Aaron Gray has 897 total points in his three-plus year career. He has averaged 9.9 points through the 2024-25 season but with 13.4 points per game in the last five games, he is seeking to reach 1,000 points in his career by the end of the season.
 
Markus Harding is right behind Gray in career points with 892. Harding has a career total of 444 rebounds and 111 assists.
 
Jaden Daughtry has scored 340 points in his one-plus year career and grabbed 126 assists. Averaging 12.6 points per game in the season and 4.5 rebounds per game, he's looking to reach the 500-point and 150-rebound marks.
 
Eight Guaranteed Games To Go
Including Saturday's game against Drake, the Sycamores only have eight guaranteed games remaining in the 2024-25 season: seven regular season games and one game in the 2025 State Farm MVC Tournament. The MVC Tournament's first games are on March 6, meaning the Sycamores are officially inside one month away from the start of the tournament. Entering this game, Indiana State sits seventh in the MVC standings.
