Last Time Out
Indiana State had three starters score 20-plus points Thursday night, but it came in a high-scoring setback at the hands of Drake, 107-86, inside the Knapp Center.
Keslyn Secrist and
Savannah White paced the Sycamores with a career-high 24 points each, with White also adding a team-high 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
Bella Finnegan added 22 points and
Deja Jones flirted with another double-double (nine rebounds, eight assists) for the Trees, who shot a season-best 52.4 percent from 3-point range.
Indiana State came out swinging from the start, as the Sycamores hit six threes in the first quarter and built a double-digit lead early on. The Trees led 35-33 after the opening frame and kept the lead until the late stages of the second quarter. A 16-2 Drake run to close the half saw the Sycamores go behind 59-49 at the intermission, and the Bulldogs took control from there. Indiana State never got closer than eight in the second half, as Drake withstood a valiant effort from the Blue and White to pull away late.
Off To The Races
Indiana State hardly looked like a team that has won four games all season in the first quarter of its last game at Drake. The Sycamores led wire-to-wire in the first 10 minutes of the game and finished with 35 minutes in the opening frame. Indiana State's 35 points in the first quarter were its most in a quarter all season, and also represented the most points allowed by Drake in a quarter all season.
» The Sycamores' hot start to Thursday's game came on a 13-for-19 clip from the field (68.4 percent), including a 6-for-9 mark from behind the arc (66.7 percent.
Bella Finnegan (13) and
Savannah White (11) both were in double-figures by the end of the opening period.
Long Distance Launching
Indiana State had one of its most productive games from behind the arc at Drake, as the Sycamores were 11-for-21 from 3-point range against the Bulldogs (52.4 percent). The 11 threes and 52.4 percent clip from deep were both the second-best marks for the Sycamores in a game this season (15 three at SIU, 53.8 percent 3FG vs. UNI).
Keslyn Secrist (five),
Bella Finnegan (four) and
Queen Ruffin (two) combined to hit all 11 treys for the Trees, with that trio going 11-for-17 from behind the arc in Thursday's game (64.7 percent).

Indiana State had a trio of starters score 20-plus points in Thursday's game at Drake, marking the first time in more than six years that the Sycamores had three 20-point scorers in the same game.
Savannah White and
Keslyn Secrist each recorded a career-high 24 points, while
Bella Finnegan added 22 against the Bulldogs.
Indiana State's last game with three 20-point scorers came on Nov. 23, 2018, an 88-81 double overtime win at Grand Canyon (Alexis Delgado 22, Ashli O'Neal 21, Tamara Lee 20).
Scorin' And Boardin'
Indiana State has had a player record a 20-point, 10-rebound game in each of the last two games, with
Savannah White being the most recent Sycamore to accomplish the feat. White had career highs of 24 points and 11 rebounds against Drake.
White joined
Deja Jones as Sycamores with a 20-10 game this season, with Jones recording a 20-point, 12-rebound game at Valparaiso.
Long Haul
Indiana State's final road trip sees the Sycamores travel nearly 1,500 miles on the road over a 10-day span, which started with games at UIC and Valparaiso.
The long stretch of the trip started with Thursday's game at Drake before closing out the road trip Saturday at Evansville. Indiana State will accrue more than 1,000 miles on the road in traveling for its last two away conference games.
Indiana State is no stranger to being on the road, as the Sycamores closed their non-conference slate with seven straight games away from home. That road stretch consisted of nearly 2,000 miles on the road for the Blue and White.
