TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State resumes its three-game homestand Saturday afternoon when it welcomes Eureka to Hulman Center for a 2 p.m. tip.
The game will be carried on ESPN+, with John Sherman on the call.
Last Time Out
Six players scored in double-figures Monday morning for Indiana State, leading a balanced Sycamore attack to a wire-to-wire 102-50 win over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods inside Hulman Center.
Tierney Kelsey and
Jayci Allen each poured in a game-high 17 points, with Clemisha Pracket adding an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double.
Samiyah Briggs finished with a season-high 15 points, with
Amerie Flowers and
Da'Naria Washington tacking on 13 and 10, respectively. Washington and
Kennedy Claybrooks tallied six assists each.
Indiana State opened with back-to-back threes from Briggs and
Kayla Smith, and the Sycamores never looked back. Briggs and Kelsey both had 10-plus points in the opening quarter, with the Trees building a 16-point lead in the first 10 minutes. A slow second quarter for the Sycamores gave way to a 30-point outburst in the third, as Allen and Prackett came alive for 18 between the pair in the frame. Flowers added 11 in the fourth, as the Sycamores opened their three-game homestand victorious on Education Day.
Home Sweet Home
Indiana State's offense has put on a show in the Sycamores' first two games inside Hulman Center this season. The Trees are averaging 96.0 points per game at home and have an average margin of victory of 36.5 points in their two Hulman Center wins.
Efficient offense has led the way for the Blue and White in their first two home games this season, with Indiana State shooting 50 percent from the field (72-for-144) inside Hulman Center. The Trees are also shooting 35.3 percent from behind the arc (18-for-51) in home games.
Indiana State has also used a suffocating defense to overwhelm opponents on its home court. Sycamore opponents are shooting just 30.6 percent from the field (38-for-124) when playing in Terre Haute. Eastern Illinois and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods both committed more than 20 turnovers in their games against the Sycamores.
Strength In Numbers
Indiana State's Education Day win over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods saw a balanced attack lead the way for the Blue and White.
Jayci Allen and
Tierney Kelsey led the charge with 17 points apiece, as six different Sycamores scored in double-figures.
Monday's win marked the first time Indiana State had six players score 10-plus points in one game since December 5, 2020 against Murray State, a span of more than 200 games. Three of the six Sycamore double-digit scorers in Monday's win - Allen,
Amerie Flowers and
Da'Naria Washington - did their damage coming off the bench.
Trees Hit Threes
Indiana State matched its season high of 11 3-pointers in its 102-50 Education Day win over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, with the Sycamores also knocking down 11 treys in their road win over Western Kentucky. The Sycamores are among the conference leaders in 3-point percentage this season at 30.8 percent (third in the MVC), while connecting on at least 30 percent of their 3-point attempts in each of the last five games.
After having just two games with double-digit threes during the entire 2024-25 season, the Sycamores needed just six games to match that mark in the 2025-26 campaign. Five different Sycamores -
Samiyah Briggs (38.1),
Jayci Allen (37.5),
Kennedy Claybrooks (33.3),
Tierney Kelsey (32.1) and
Kayla Smith (31.6) - are shooting better than 30 percent from behind the arc this season, with four of those five knocking down an average of at least one 3-pointer per game.
Scoring In Bunches
Indiana State's 102 points scored in its Education Day win over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods was the most for the Sycamores under head coach
Marc Mitchell. The Sycamores have scored 90-plus points in three games since the start of the 2024-25 season after not previously having a 90-point game since the 2013-14 season.
The Sycamores' 102 points scored in their last win marked the first time Indiana State hit the century mark since November 28, 2006 against Loyola Chicago. Indiana State scored 100-plus points three times during the 2006-07 non-conference slate, but the Sycamores had gone more than 500 games without a 100-point showing prior to their Education Day win.
No Start? No Problem
Indiana State's bench has been among the most productive in the nation this season, with the Sycamores generating 30-plus bench points in five of their first six games. The Trees rank third nationally in bench scoring at 41.3 points per game, trailing only a pair of nationally-ranked teams in LSU and Michigan State.
The Sycamores currently lead the MVC in bench points by a wide margin and are the only team in the conference averaging more than 25 bench points per game. Indiana State has had multiple double-digit scorers off the bench in each of the first six games of the 2025-26 season.
Going The Other Way
Indiana State has made a habit of forcing opposition miscues this season, as the Sycamores lead the MVC in turnovers forced at 20.2 per game. The Trees are the only team in the conference averaging more than 20 turnovers forced per game and currently rank in the top 100 nationally in turnovers forced.
Three of the Sycamores' first six opponents this season have committed more than 20 turnovers against the Sycamores, and Indiana State has taken full advantage of opponent giveaways. The Sycamores are currently averaging 21.3 points off turnovers per game and have scored 25 or more points off turnovers in three of the first six games this season.

Indiana State is 6-8 in program history in games played on November 29. The Sycamores are 5-1 in their last six games on this date with an average margin of plus-7.5 in those games.
