OXFORD, Ohio – Jecza Lopez claimed the 1M Springboard diving title and
Ali Pearson added a top-three finish in the 100-yard Breaststroke to highlight Indiana State in the pool on the third day of the 2025 Miami Invite at the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center.
Lopez topped the field in the 1M Springboard diving preliminary rounds to earn the top overall seed in the field. The Guadalajara, Mexico native followed up totaling a six-dive score of 287.40 to claim Indiana State's first event win of the weekend.
Pearson was just .04 off her record-setting pace in the 100-yard Breaststroke going 1:03.38 to claim the top overall seed heading into the event finals. She improved her time by .03 in going 1:03.35 in the 100-yard Breast finals in placing second overall in the field.
The Sycamores remain third overall in the team standings heading into the final day of competition. Indiana State has 751.5 points to sit behind leaders Miami (1117) and Notre Dame (1110). Marshall (703) and Indianapolis (551) round out the top five.
Friday Night Results
Raine Boles and
Sophia Diaz took on the field in the A-Finals of the 100-yard Fly to open competition on the evening. The senior duo finished sixth and seventh overall with Boles going 54.70, while Diaz finished in 54.74.
Addison Johnson built off a strong swim early to place 13th overall in 56.23 with Allie Barasch finishing 22nd in 56.67.
Raz Harel (57.18),
Haley Halsall (57.35), and
Kiarra Thomas (58.21) took on the field in the D-Finals to round out the group in the pool.
Maria Saldana Riebeling moved up one spot in the field in the A-Finals of the 400-yard IM as the sophomore finished seventh in the field in 4:26.27.
Gemma Dilks (4:30.10),
Elle Santucci (4:30.27),
Grace Cummings (4:31.78), and
Ella Moustgaard (4:33.63) all finished inside the top 15 in the field in the B-Finals of the event.
The 200-yard Freestyle featured both
Erin Cummins (1:48.58) and
Claire Parsons (1:48.64) placing inside the top five in the A-Finals of the field.
Peyton Heagy (1:52.13) and
Addison Johnson (1:53.46) took on the B-Finals group, while
Rachel Stutz finished in 1:54.31 in the C-Finals.
Ali Pearson finished just .01 off her Indiana State record-setting pace in the 100-yard Breaststroke as the graduate student finished second overall in the field in 1:01.35.
Jenna Nave went 1:04.38 to place 18th in the field, while
Kiarra Thomas rounded out the Sycamores in the pool in 1:07.56.
Sahara Visscher topped the field in the 100-yard Backstroke C-Finals as the sophomore was first to the wall in 56.09 to lead four Sycamores in the heat.
Sara Keefe finished in 56.46 with
Kate Reeves (56.77) and
Anna Asplund (57.66) wrapping up Indiana State's efforts in the C-Finals.
Kalli Agapios went 57.34 to place second in the D-Finals grouping.
Jecza Lopez continued her winning ways on Friday evening as the junior diver topped the field in the 1M Springboard with a six-dive score of 287.40 to defeat Miami's Sydney Rice (270.15) by 17 points.
Brenna Woodruff was fourth overall in the 1M Springboard consolation bracket finishing with a six-dive score of 214.35.
Bree Cleary finished sixth in 198.25.
The Sycamores closed out the night taking on the field in the 200-yard Medley Relay. The team of

Erin Cummins finished fifth in 1:41.86, while the second group of
Sara Keefe,
Jenna Nave, Allie Barasch, and
Kalli Agapios placed 10th in 1:44.54. The third team of

Sophia Diaz, and Ash Saple finished in 1:46.54 with the final grouping of
Kate Reeves,

Raz Harel, and
Rachel Stutz finishing in 1:46.85.

Friday Morning Results
Ali Pearson took the top overall spot in the 100-yard Breaststroke prelims and
Erin Cummins drew the second seed in the 200-yard Freestyle to highlight 24 Sycamores who advanced to the evening's finals.
Pearson was first to the wall in the 100-yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:01.38 to claim the top overall spot in the event, just .04 off her Indiana State record-setting pace.
Jenna Nave (1:04.81) and
Kiarra Thomas (1:07.73) will join Pearson in the event finals after placing inside the top 32 in the field.
Cummins nearly was first to the wall in the 200-yard Freestyle event as the junior finished in 1:48.33 to place second overall in the preliminary rounds.
Claire Parsons (1:49.51) will join Cummins in the A-Finals of the event after finishing sixth, while
Peyton Heagy (1:52.71) and
Addison Johnson (1:53.13) both advanced to the B-Finals after finishing inside the top 16.
Rachel Stutz (1:54.63) joins them in the finals advancing into the C-Finals.
The Sycamores opened up the competition with 100-yard Fly on Friday morning as
Raine Boles posted a 55.03 to finish seventh in the field and advancing into the A-Finals.
Sophia Diaz (55.46) and
Addison Johnson (56.26) moved onto the B-Finals, while Allie Barasch (56.86) qualified for the C-Finals in the event.
Kiarra Thomas (57.51),
Haley Halsall (57.54), and
Raz Harel (57.78) all made it to the D-Finals finishing inside the top 32 in the field.
Maria Saldana Riebeling kept the Sycamores in the A-Finals in the 400-yard IM as the sophomore touched the wall in 4:26.90 to place eighth overall in the field.
Gemma Dilks (4:29.15),
Elle Santucci (4:30.50), and
Grace Cummings (4:33.69) all advanced to the B-Finals, with
Ella Moustgaard (4:33.93) earning the top seed in the C-Finals.
The Sycamores placed four inside the C-Finals in the 100-yard backstroke led by
Sahara Visscher's 56.54 to place 17th in the field.
Sara Keefe was one spot back in 56.69, while
Anna Asplund (57.12) and
Kate Reeves (57.13) also finished inside the top 24.
Kalli Agapios (59.22) and
Raz Harel (59.66) narrowly missed out on advancing to the finals.
Jecza Lopez scored a six-dive total 275.80 to earn the top overall seed in the 1M Springboard diving event on Friday afternoon and earned a spot in the A-Finals.
Bree Cleary (204.35) and Breena Woodruff (201.95) both earned spots in the consolation, with
Sofia Dansereau back in action with a six-dive score of 151.40.
