TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer's Brooklyn Woods was named this week's Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced by the athletic department Monday afternoon.
 
Woods scored the game-winning goal in the Sycamores' 1-0 victory over Illinois State and played a vital role in an Indiana State backline which recorded two shutout wins over the course of the week.
 
The senior defender opened her week by helping the Indiana State defense limit Southern Illinois to just one shot on target Thursday night as the Sycamores claimed a 1-0 road win over the Salukis. Woods followed that by converting from the spot in the 67th minute of Sunday's home win over Illinois State, as the Sycamores handed the Redbirds their first conference loss of the season.
 
Woods' performance helped Indiana State pick up six vital points in the conference standings, with the Sycamores fighting for a potential MVC regular season crown and first round by heading into Thursday's regular season finale at home against Murray State.
 
The Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2025-26 athletic season.
