ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Indiana State's
Jecza Lopez was named this week's Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Lopez claims the honor for the first time in the 2025-26 season following her performance at Missouri State this past weekend. The Guadalajara, Mexico native qualified for both the 1M and 3M Springboard NCAA Zone C qualifiers this past weekend, marking the second consecutive season she will head to the postseason.
Lopez continues to make history as the Sycamore diver continues to build off her record-setting 2024-25 campaign by qualifying for the NCAA Zones in her first meet of 2025-26.
The junior diver won the 3M diving event on Friday night by nearly 30 points with a score of 290.40 over her six dives to qualify for the springs NCAA postseason. She followed up on Saturday winning the 1M Springboard by nearly the same margin with a score of 285.10, to also advance to the NCAA postseason qualifiers.
Lopez is the first Sycamore diver to qualify for both the 1M and 3M Springboard NCAA Zones in back-to-back seasons in program history.
