TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's golf's
Jecza Lopez was named this week's Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced by the athletic department Monday afternoon.
Lopez picked up right where she left off after a historic 2024-25 season, qualifying for NCAA Zones in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events in her 2025-26 season debut as the Sycamores defeated Missouri State in a dual meet.
The junior diver won the 3M diving event on Friday night by nearly 30 points with a score of 290.40 over her six dives to qualify for the NCAA postseason. She followed up on Saturday winning the 1M Springboard by nearly the same margin with a score of 285.10, to also advance to the NCAA postseason qualifiers.
Lopez became the first Sycamore diver in program history to qualify for NCAA Zones in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events in back-to-back seasons.
The Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2025-26 athletic season.
