TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's golf's Sophia Florek was named this week's Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced by the athletic department Monday afternoon.
 
Florek led the Blue and White to a second-place finish at the Toledo Rocket Classic, the best team finish for Indiana State this season. She placed third overall in the 33-athlete field at 5-over for the weather-shortened 36-hole tournament.
 
The Mascoutah, Illinois, native matched her season low with a second-round 73 (1-over) after firing an opening round score of 76 (4-over). She recorded a pair of birdies in her season-best second round and was consistent across her two rounds played with pars on two-thirds of the holes.
 
The Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2025-26 athletic season.
