TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's track & field's Rachel Mehringer was named this week's GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.
 
Mehringer continued a strong spring by the Indiana State track & field program as the sophomore shattered both the Sycamores' mark and the Missouri Valley Conference's mark in the 60m hurdles. Mehringer clocked a time of 8.19 to break the previous program record by .09 seconds set by Ayanna Morgan (8.28) back in the 2019 season.
 
Mehringer's mark also took down the Valley's all-time mark in the event set by Wichita State's Taylor Larch-Miller (8.21) back at the 2017 MVC Indoor Track & Field Championships. Her time is the fourth-best on the Great Lakes Region performance list and 19th on the NCAA Division I women's indoor track performance list for the season.
 
She also posted times of 7.62 (career-best) and 7.66 in the 60m dash on her way to finish fifth overall in the field in the event. She remains in the Top 10 in the MVC in the event for the season.
 
The GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2024-25 athletic season.
