TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's basketball's Saige Stahl was named this week's GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.
 
Saige Stahl earns the award for the second time after posting 16 points and 17 rebounds in Indiana State's 90-74 win over Evansville this past weekend.
 
Stahl entered the game midway through the first quarter and made an immediate impact on the glass pulling in six rebounds over her six minutes of action, while adding a layup that helped spark the Sycamores' run that led to an 11-6 swing resulting in Indiana State's 20-17 lead at the quarter break.
 
The sophomore hit double-digit rebounds by the 3:59 mark in the second quarter with a defensive board and she added seven points over the final 3:38 of the first half on her way to having nine points and 13 rebounds midway through the game.
 
The Seymour, Ind. native finished the double-double with a layup with 3:30 remaining in the third quarter that put the Sycamores ahead 59-47. She later put the capper on the game with the final points on a layup off the assist from Deja Jones to end the scoring in the 90-74 win.
 
The 16-point, 17-rebound game set or matched her career highs, while her 17 rebounds ranked 11th in a single game in program history. She shot better than 50 percent for the 10th time this season, while recording her fifth double-double of the season. It also marked the highest plus-minus (+19) of her career.
 
The GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every week throughout the 2024-25 athletic season.
