TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State Women's Soccer's
Alexa Mackey was named this week's GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.
Mackey recorded her first collegiate hat-trick this past Thursday in leading the Indiana State women's soccer team to the 10-0 season-opening win over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods at Memorial Stadium. Her hat-trick was a part of a 10-goal explosion offensively that featured seven different players scoring their first collegiate goal at Indiana State, while 13 players overall recorded points in the win over the Pomeroys.
Mackey scored in the 24th, 28th, and 52nd minutes of the contest on her way to recording just the second hat-trick in Indiana State program history and first since Sydney Lovelace accomplished the fact back on September 18, 2015, against Chicago State. The Brunswick, Ohio native was successful on all three of her shots throughout the match.
The GoGo Squeez ISU Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every Monday afternoon throughout the 2024-25 athletic season.
