ST. LOUIS - Indiana State men's basketball sophomore
Ryan Conwell was selected as the Missouri Valley Newcomer of the Week for the fifth time this season.
Ryan Conwell helped ISU to a 2-0 week and its first MVC regular season title since 2000 with two more huge performances. For the week, Conwell averaged 19.5 PPG, 9.5 RPG, and 3.0 AST/G while shooting 63.2% from the floor, 73.3% from deep and 100% from the free throw line.

In game one,
Ryan Conwell tallied 15 points making 5-for-8 from three. He secured seven rebounds and three assists. In game two, Conwell led the way for the Sycamores, scoring 24 points on 7-for-10 from the floor, including a 6-for-7 effort from beyond the arc. He tied his career-high with 12 rebounds, also dishing out three assists and swiping one pass. Sunday's double-double marked Conwell's fourth of the season. In the final ten minutes of the game, Conwell scored seven of ISU's nine points from 9:38 to 5:49, allowing the Sycamores to hold an 11-point, 77-66 lead. The final made three-throw of the night for ISU was Conwell triple, which gave the Trees the 11th three-pointer it needed to break the school record in total made threes by the team.
Indiana State earned the No. 1 seed with a 17-3 MVC record (26-5 overall). The Sycamores open up the MVC Tournament on Friday at 1 p.m. ET/12 p.m. CT versus the winner of No. 8 Murray State and No. 9 Missouri State.
