TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Indiana State men's basketball hosts Murray State on Sunday, looking to win the MVC regular season championship outright for the first time since 2000. The Sycamores have already won a share of the title, but with a win can own sole possession.

Series History
This will be the 14th meeting between Indiana State and Illinois State, but only the fourth in recent years. The Sycamores and Racers met for the first time last year since 2006 and have played three games prior to Sunday's contest. Earlier this year, the teams met in Murray and the Sycamores won 72-63 on ESPN2.Â
About Murray State
Murray State is in their 6th season with Coach Steve Prohm at the helm. Coach Prohm is in his second stint as head coach of the Racers, currently in his second year back in Murray. Coach Prohm was with Murray State from 2011-12 through 2014-15 and returned last season after six years at Iowa State. The Racers current stand tied for seventh in the league with Illinois State. The Racers were picked to finish seventh in the preseason poll. In the first year in the league last year, Murray State finished 17-15 overall and 11-9 in MVC play. MSU was defeated by the eventual MVC champions Drake in Arch Madness, 74-62. Four Racers currently average 10.0+ PPG: JaCobi Wood (12.7), Quincy Anderson (12.4), Rob Perry (12.2), and Nick Ellington (11.8).

Robbie Avila dropped a career-high 35 points on 14-for-24 shooting from the floor, beating his previous high of 30. He recorded eight rebounds and five assists in 35 minutes of action, committing only one turnover.Â
Ryan Conwell tallied 15 points making 5-for-8 from three. He secured seven rebounds and three assists.

Xavier Bledson was huge off the bench, scoring 12 points in 28 minutes on 4-for-7 shooting, also grabbing three rebounds and dishing out five assists.Â
Isaiah Swope chipped in 11 points with three triples, five rebounds, and four assists.Â
Julian Larry posted a solid effort across the board with eight points, eight assists, six rebounds, and three steals.
Last Time Out - Murray State
The Racers found themselves on the wrong side of a 83-61 final in the last home game of the 2023-24 season at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky. Rob Perry led the Racers with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Quincy Anderson added 10 points.
