ST. LOUIS - Three student-athletes from Indiana State men's basketball were recognized following the MVC Tournament championship game:
Ryan Conwell and
Robbie Avila for earning spots on the All-Tournament Team and
Masen Miller for receiving the Elite 17 award.
Conwell averaged a team-leading 17.7 points per game during the Sycamores' run in the tournament, averaging 8.7 rebounds per game, 2.7 assists per game, and 2.0 steals per game. The sophomore shot 51.3% from the floor in the trio of games and recorded a career-high 13 rebounds in the game two win against Northern Iowa en route to his fifth double-double of the season.
Avila averaged 16.7 points per game with 3.7 rebounds per game and 3.3 assists per game. The fellow sophomore knocked down five three-pointers in the same victory against UNI, including draining his first four attempts.
Masen Miller was named the conference's Elite 17 Award recipient. The Elite 17 award recognizes an athlete that has posted the highest achievement in both athletic and academic excellence according to the Valley office. Miller, a junior guard majoring in finance, has a 3.971 GPA at Indiana State.
