TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's basketball's Ella Sawyer was named this week's Mark Clinkenbeard Construction ISU Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.
 
Sawyer averaged a double-double for the week from the point guard spot, recording the first double-double of her collegiate career in the process as the Sycamores posted a 1-1 record on the week.
 
The fifth-year guard opened the week with an eight-point, eight-rebound, six-assist showing in Indiana State's win over Valparaiso, with four of her six assists coming on three-pointers for the Sycamores.
 
Sawyer followed that by registering her first career double-double at UIC with an ISU-high 13 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. She also dished out a pair of assists against the Flames, while recording multiple steals in both ends of Indiana State's road trip.
 
The Mark Clinkenbeard Construction ISU Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every Monday afternoon throughout the 2023-24 athletic season.
