CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Emma Gresham broke her own program record in the 6k Friday afternoon on her way to capturing the MVC Women's Cross Country individual title at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course.
 
Gresham clocked a time of 20:09.7, breaking her own program record by 26 seconds and became the first Sycamore to win the MVC Cross Country individual title on the women's side since 2003. Erica Barker also placed in the top-five with a time of 20:31.6 as Indiana State earned a second-place finish as a team on the women's side, the program's best since 1997.
 
Each of Indiana State's top five women's finishers placed in the top 25, with Peyton Smith (20:55.3) and Morgan Dyer (21:02.4) both finishing in the top 20. Brittney Burak (21:09.2) earned a top-25 finish, with Hadley Gradolf (21:24.9) and Gnister Grant (21:46.5) both earning top-40 finishes to round out the Sycamores' top seven finishers. Halle Miller (21:49.5) and Robyn Schemel (22:11.3) closed out Indiana State's account.
 
Emerson Fayman led the way for the Indiana State men, placing 23rd with a time of 24:09.8. Layton Hall (24:17.7), Ryan Handy (24:29.9), Ryan York (24:31.8) and Jason Dworak (24:41.0) all carded top-40 finishes for the Sycamores, who placed fifth as a team.
 
Isaac Bryant (25:06.3) and Parker Mimbela (25:24.6) ran career-best times to close out the Sycamores' top seven, with Ian Gadberry (25:34.6) and Jcim Grant (25.35.7).
