Box Score TERRE HAUTE, Ind.- Indiana State battled visiting Northern Iowa to a scoreless draw on Sunday afternoon as the Sycamores and Panthers settled for the 0-0 tie at Memorial Stadium.
How it happened:
The Sycamores (7-3-4, 2-1-2) posted its second consecutive shutout and ninth overall in the 2024 season as Indiana State's defense stood strong against the Northern Iowa (7-4-2, 2-2-1) offense. The Sycamores outshot the Panthers 15-11 as Indiana State held the 8-2 edge on corners.
The Sycamores and Panthers both registered nine shot attempts during the first half of Sunday afternoon's matchup. Lehnert was the standout with three attempts, while Fasquelle added two. Mackey, Fairfax, Tesny, and Mullen each had one shot. Tesny registered the first on goal attempt for Indiana State in the 24th minute, which was picked up by Richards.
The second half saw the Sycamore offense maintain its pressure, with Wimberley Wright firing the first shot on goal in the 53rd minute, which met Richards for her third stop of the match. Wright registered two shots on target against the Panthers, while Woods and Quinn contributed one each late in the game. However, none of the attempts resulted in a goal, leading the teams to a scoreless draw.
Alexander kept the Panthers off the board on Sunday afternoon as she ended the match with five saves for Indiana State, to pick up her eighth shutout of the 2024 season. Alexander has been the primary keeper for Indiana State this season, picking up 87 saves while only allowing seven goals scored in 14 games of play.
Lehnert and Fasquelle combined for six of ISU's shot attempts in the contest as the Sycamores were held scoreless for the fourth match of the season.
The Panthers were led by Heinsch and Braun, each contributing three shots on Sunday, while Bohl added two shots on target. UNI goalkeeper Caitlin Richards made six saves during the match.
