USTFCCCA.org – The Indiana State women's cross country team is back in the Great Lakes Regional rankings as the USTFCCCA announced their second regional polls of the 2024 season.
The Sycamores hold strong at No. 14 in the Great Lakes Region following their second-place finish at the John McNichols Invitational held at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course back on September 21. It marked the first time the Sycamores were ranked in back-to-back regional polls since the 2018 season.
Emma Gresham continues to pace the Sycamores on the women's side after finishing second overall at the John McNichols Invitational with a personal-best 21:03.7 in the 6K event.
Erica Barker (11th),
Brittney Burak (18th), and
Peyton Smith (19th) added top-20 results in the race, while
Morgan Dyer (28th),
Gnister Grant (32nd), and
Halle Miller (34th) were also among the top Indiana State finishers at the meet.
Indiana State is back in action this weekend as the Sycamores split the squad up running at both the Joe Piane Invitational hosted by Notre Dame in South Bend (10:30 a.m. start) and the Nike XC Town Twilight hosted by Rose-Hulman at LaVern Gibson (6:30 p.m. start) on Friday, October 4.
