Kourtney Mennen named to 2024 Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Silver Anniversary Team

NEW CASTLE, Ind. – Former Indiana State women's basketball standout Kourtney Mennen has been selected to the 2024 Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's Silver Anniversary Team, as announced by the organization.

Mennen was a four-year starter for the Sycamores from 1999-2003 and helped build the program into one of the best in the Missouri Valley Conference, culminating with an MVC Regular Season Championship and a postseason berth in the WNIT in the 2002-03 campaign. She was also selected to the MVC All-Centennial Team in 2007, which recognized the top players in Missouri Valley Conference history for the league's first 100 years of existence.

A 1999 Indiana All-Star and three-time all-state selection, Mennen was named the top player on Clinton Prairie's 1999 Class A State Championship-winning team. She finished her high-school career as Clinton Prairie's all-time leading scorer with 2,191 points, earning all-area and all-conference honors four times and being named Lafayette Journal and Courier's Player of the Year twice (1998, 1999). She was also a two-time all-state selection in volleyball, helping Clinton Prairie win a pair of state titles, and a standout in track and field. Mennen was inducted into Clinton Prairie's Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017.

Mennen had a sterling four-year career at Indiana State, where her 1,843 career points rank second in program history and her 16.3 points per game for her career rank third. She led the Sycamores in scoring in three of her four seasons with the Blue and White, and owns two of the top four single-season scoring marks in program history. Mennen ranks third in program history with 256 3-pointers, and her career 3-point percentage of 38.6 percent ranks eighth in program history. In addition, she shot 87.2 percent from the free throw line in her career, a mark that ranks second in program history. She had six 30-point games in her career, the most in program history, with a career-high of 34 points against Bradley. In addition to being the team's leading scorer, Mennen led the MVC in scoring in both the 2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons.

Mennen's accomplishments didn't go unnoticed by her peers and those around the conference. She was selected to the 2000 MVC All-Freshman Team and was a two-time First Team All-MVC honoree (2002, 2003). Mennen was also the 2003 MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, earned a pair of First Team MVC All-Academic honors (2002, 2003) and was a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District selection (2002, 2003). She earned all-tournament team honors for Indiana State's in-season tournaments at San Diego State (1999), Vanderbilt (2001) and Saint Louis (2002).

Mennen will be honored at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's Awards Banquet on Saturday, April 27, 2024. A midday reception, free and open to the public, will be held at the Hall of Fame museum in New Castle.  The evening banquet will take place at the Primo Banquet Hall, which is located on the south side of Indianapolis.  Banquet reservations will be available through the Hall's website at www.hoopshall.com  or by calling (765) 529-1891 beginning in January.
