Sycamores to Host Loyola Chicago for Final Regular Season Series

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State softball will welcome the Ramblers to Price Field for a three-game set this weekend which will conclude the regular season for both teams.

The series will begin Saturday with a doubleheader at noon ET with Sunday being a single game scheduled to begin at noon ET as well. Each game will be carried live on ESPN3. The Sycamores will honor seniors Amanda Guercio, Grace Hunger, Bella Peterson and Lexie Siwek before Sunday's game.

Indiana State is coming off of a trip to Cedar Falls where the Panthers took both games in a doubleheader at Robinson-Dresser Sports Complex on May 1. Bella Peterson went 2-for-4 in game one with a home run and three RBIs. Annie Tokarek also launched a solo shot in game one. Abi Chipps drove in a pair of runs in the second game to lead the Sycamore offense.

Loyola took two of three in a home series against Drake, falling only in the series finale in a close 2-1 game to give the Ramblers their first series win over the Bulldogs since 2014.

Scouting the Ramblers
Alicia Abbott is in her third season as the Ramblers' head coach who enter the weekend at 9-14 in MVC action.

Offensively, Loyola is led by Maddie Ebeling who was named the MVC Player of the Week for her efforts last week. Amelia Thomas is second on the team with 30 hits on the season, collecting an MVC-best five triples.

In the circle, freshman Peyton Pepkowski has been one of the league's best arms in 2022, going 11-10 with a 2.91 ERA and 142 strikeouts thus far. Her strikeout total ranks fifth-best in the Valley which includes 45 batters struck out looking which is just one behind Missouri State's Sydney Dickerson for most in the conference.

This will be Loyola Chicago's final MVC series as they will join the Atlantic 10 Conference in the summer.

The Ramblers lead the all-time series over Indiana State 12-10 since joining the MVC in 2014. Loyola won two out of three in 2021.
