TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State softball will welcome Evansville to Price Field on Wednesday for an MVC doubleheader scheduled to begin at noon ET.
Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Sycamores (19-20, 6-9) last played Drake where the Bulldogs won two out of three games while Evansville (20-18, 5-10) is coming off of a series loss to Missouri State with the Bears sweeping the weekend over the Aces.
Bella Peterson was named MVC Player of the Week for her 8-for-12 performance in last week's games which included four doubles, two home runs, five RBIs and four runs scored. She hit a three-run home run against Drake which proved to be the deciding factor in the Sycamores 4-3 win over the Bulldogs. Peterson finished the Drake series with three-straight multi-hit games. Her four doubles over the last week put her in a tie for third-most in the nation.
Scouting the Aces
Head coach Mat Mundell is in his eighth season at the helm in Evansville where he led one of the nation's biggest turnarounds in 2016, leading the Purple Aces to a 16-win increase on his way to his staff being named the Missouri Valley Coaching Staff of the Year.
Offensively, Evansville is led by Jessica Fehr who is currently batting .310 with 36 hits including 10 doubles this season. She has stolen six bases and leads the Aces with 25 runs.
