On the Docket
Friday's game is the first game of the Sycamores' Alumni Weekend. Indiana State will present its annual Brenda Howell Award prior to game.

In addition, Sunday's game against Valparaiso will feature another special moment. The Sycamores will retire the jersey of Indiana State Athletics Hall of Fame member and all-time leading scorer Amy Hile, with the presentation for that set for halftime.

Pregame Presentation
Indiana State will present its annual Brenda Howell Spirit Award prior to Friday's game. The Brenda Howell Spirit Award is awarded annually to an Indiana State women's basketball student-athlete who exhibits the spirit, determination and positive attitude that Brenda Howell did. Howell was a longtime Sycamore women's basketball supporter who passed away in 2005.

Drive for 25
The Culver's Drive for 25 promotion continues at the Hulman Center with this weekend's games. Students in the The Forest will receive promo cards for a free butter burger from Culver's if the women's basketball team scores 25 points or more in the first half.

Last Time Out
Indiana State was unable to generate any sustained offense Tuesday evening, as the Sycamores fell on the road to Loyola Chicago, 64-40, inside Gentile Arena.

Tonysha Curry led the Sycamores with 10 points and was the only Indiana State player in double-figures. Del'Janae Williams had eight, while Anna McKendree added seven. Arianna Smith had a team-leading seven rebounds in the loss.

Indiana State led by one after the opening quarter, but a pair of Rambler 3-pointers early in the second gave the home side the lead for good. ISU remained within two possessions until a lengthy offensive drought in the third quarter, as the Sycamores shot a season-low 26.3 percent from the field.

A Closer Look at Loyola Chicago
Loyola Chicago enters the weekend at 14-10 overall and 6-7 in Valley play. The Ramblers defeated Indiana State earlier in the week, 64-40.

Allison Day leads the team in scoring at 10.6 points per game. Maya Chandler also scores in double-figures at 10.5 points per game while Bre Hampton-Bey, Sitori Tanin and Sam Galanopoulos all average at least seven points per contest. Tanin also leads the team in
rebounding at 5.5 boards per game.

Series History Against Loyola Chicago
Indiana State has a 13-10 lead in the all-time series after Loyola Chicago's win earlier this week. The Sycamores have a 7-2 lead in games played in Terre Haute, though the Ramblers have won in each of their last two visits to the Hulman Center.

Anna Brown had a career night off the bench for the Ramblers when these teams met Tuesday, knocking down five 3-pointers and scoring 15 points in a 24-point Loyola Chicago win inside Gentile Arena. Maya Chandler had a game-high 19 for the home side, while Tonysha Curry was the lone Sycamore in double-figures with 10.

The Ramblers and Sycamores split their regular season series in Rogers Park back in 2020-21, with Indiana State recording a 63-48 win before Loyola responded with a 59-52 triumph less than 24 hours later. Adrian Folks led the Sycamores in scoring in both games, with 14 in the win and 11 in the loss. Caitlin Anderson added 10 in the series-opening win.

Familiar Foe
Friday's game gives the Sycamores a chance to exact revenge on Loyola Chicago. The Ramblers shut down ISU's offense Tuesday evening in a 64-40 Sycamore setback in Chicago.

Home, Sweet Home
This weekend's games mark the first time the Sycamores will have back-to-back home games since a three-game stretch from Jan. 7-18.

Tuesday's game begins a crucial three-game stretch for the Sycamores, who are currently seventh in the Valley. Indiana State is a half-game behind Loyola Chicago and Valparaiso, who are tied for fifth place. The top six teams at the end of the regular season advance straight to the quarterfinals of Hoops in the Heartland, while teams 7-10 will play in the opening round.

Crashing The Glass
Indiana State had a trio of players post their career high in rebounds in the Sycamores' game at Evansville, including two in double-digits.

Tonysha Curry had a game-high and career-high 13 rebounds against the Purple Aces, while Arianna Smith grabbed 11 boards. Natalia Lalic also posted five rebounds, her most in a Sycamore uniform.

Out of the Break
Indiana State's third quarter against Evansville was one of its best quarters against a Division I opponent this season. The Sycamores outscored the Purple Aces 24-10 in the quarter while shooting 55.6 percent from the field (10-for-18).

Four of Indiana State's five 3-pointers in the game came in the third quarter.

Balanced Attack
Indiana State's offense doesn't necessarily have a marquee scorer, but that plays to the benefit of the Sycamores. Eight different players have led the Sycamores in scoring in a game this season, with Del'Janae Williams having a team-high seven games as the Sycamores' leading scorer.

Night and Day
Indiana State's splits in day games versus night games are staggering. Eight of the Sycamores' 10 wins this season have come in night games, defined as games with a tip time of 5 p.m. or later.

Indiana State is averaging four more points per game in night games (65.5) compared to day games (61.3), while also allowing six fewer points in night games (61.1) compared to day games (67.7).

Up Next
Indiana State remains home for a Sunday afternoon contest against Valparaiso to close out alumni weekend. Tipoff for that game is set for 1 p.m.
