Morrow jumps in field, Sycamores finish seventh to close out Butler Fall Invitational

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Sycamores turned in their best round of the weekend as Indiana State wrapped up the Butler Fall Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the Highland Golf and Country Club. ISU cared a 307, the fifth-lowest score of the day to put the team in a tie for seventh-place in the field.
 
The Sycamores finished the three-round event at 101-over par in their second tournament in the fall season. ISU turned shaved 14 strokes off their second round 321 to finish tied with Dayton and nine strokes back of Marshall (+92) for fifth place.
 
Chelsea Morrow made the biggest leap for the Sycamores on the final day as the junior turned in the seventh-best score of the final round with a 73 (+3). She moved up 25 spots from where she started the day to sit tied for 21st overall in the field following her three-round score 234 (+24). Her final round was highlighted by her first two birdies of the tournament coming on the eighth and 14th holes.
 
Kristin Hobbs also improved on her second-round score to finish tied with Morrow in 21st. The junior turned in a final round 78 (+8) that featured a birdie on the 15th hole as Hobbs sat as the team leader throughout the entirety of the event.
 
Briana LeMaire (+29) also turned in one of the best rounds of her collegiate career on Tuesday. The freshman carded a 76 (+6) to move up 16 spots in the field in a tie for 43rd. Her round was highlighted by her third birdie of the tournament coming on the 14th hole.
 
Molly Lee (+33) also advanced in the field on Tuesday as the sophomore turned in a final round 80 (+10) to finish tied for 53rd overall. Iyoun Chew (+36) rounded out the lineup for Head Coach Greg Towne on the day with a final round 88 (+18) to finish tied for 64th in the event.
 
Freshman Eliza Baker (+36) continued to improve in her first collegiate tournament as the Adelaide, Australia native took on the field as an individual. She turned in a final round 82 (+12) and turned in six consecutive pars at one point on her way to closing out the tournament.
 
Austin Peay State (+60) took home the team title, while Youngstown State (+76) and Illinois Chicago (+83) rounded out the top three. APSU's Taylor Dedmen (+7) was the individual medalist, while YSU's Danae Rugola (+13), Marshall's Emily McLatchey (+13), and UIC's Dasa Urbankova (+13) all finished in a three-way tie for second.
