Sycamores to Host Drake in Final Regular Season Home Match

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer will welcome the Bulldogs of Drake to Memorial Stadium on Sunday for the Sycamores final home match of the regular season. The match is slated to begin at 1 p.m. ET and will be streamed lived on ESPN3 with live stats available on GoSycamores.com.
 
Sunday's match will have implications on the upcoming Missouri Valley Conference Tournament as Drake (1-2-4 MVC) sits one point behind the Sycamores (2-3-2) in the league standings.
 
Sycamore Statistics
Ella Gorrie leads ISU with six points on the season, dishing out two assists and scoring twice including a game-winning goal against Evansville on September 22.
 
CeCe Wahlberg leads the team with 23 shot attempts, putting 13 of them on goal. Wahlberg is three shots on goal away from becoming ISU's all-time leader after she put five shots on goal against Northern Iowa to give her 87 for her career. Lauren Podolski is the current leader with 89 for her career.
 
Mackenzie Kent is second on ISU with 17 shot attempts on the year.
 
Tara Hoffman leads the Sycamores with 39 saves this season which includes a career-best nine-save effort against Northern Iowa on October 2 at Memorial Stadium.
 
Three Sycamores have passed the 1,000 minute threshold on the season, led by  Adelaide Wolfe who has logged 1,111 minutes of action. Right behind her are Alexa Mackey and Josie Bakaitis who have played 1,061 and 1,044 minutes, respectively.
 
Seven different Sycamores have scored in 2022; Ella Gorrie (2), Josie Bakaitis (1), Carlie Jensen (1), Mackenzie Kent (1), Chloe Tesny (1), Kaytie Yankey (1) and CeCe Wahlberg (1).
 
The Matchup
Head coach Lindsey Horner is in her 12th season leading the Bulldogs where she has won a pair of regular season MVC titles. Drake is led by Emma Nagel who has netted four goals this season with one assist for a team-leading nine points. Rachel Panther leads the Bulldogs with four assists this season. Goalkeeper Viany Lopez has recorded 65 saves with one shutout in 2022.
 
The all-time series sits at 15-6-3 led by Drake. Last fall, the ISU and Drake played to a 1-1 tie in Des Moines. The Sycamores won the last matchup in Terre Haute 1-0 in the covid-shortened spring season in 2021.
