TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer will continue their road trip in the Carolinas with a stop at UNC Asheville on Sunday afternoon for a noon ET match at Greenwood Soccer Field.
This will be the first ever match between the two schools.
The Sycamores are coming off a 1-0 shutout of Furman on Thursday night where
Mackenzie Kent scored her second goal of the season and
Maddie Alexander made four saves.
Through five matches, six different Indiana State players have put their name in the scoring column.
CeCe Wahlberg holds the team lead for shot attempts with 12. Leading the assist category is
Sasha Thompson with two.
UNC Asheville comes into the match sporting a record of 0-5. They have been outscored 11-1 by their opponents. Bulldogs head coach Andy McNab is in his first season with the school after spending the last two seasons as the lead man at Division II Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina.
The Bulldogs fell 3-0 to Elon on Thursday night. Goalkeeper Courtney O'Malley made eight saves in the loss.
After completing their two game trip to the Carolinas, the Sycamores will head to Toledo on Friday, September 10 for a 7 p.m. ET match at Paul Hotmer Field.
