TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer will welcome Evansville to Memorial Stadium on Sunday for 1 p.m. ET kick-off. The match will be streamed on ESPN3.
Last Time Out
The Sycamores played to a 1-1 on the road against Drake on Wednesday night. Indiana State got off to a quick start with a goal in the 10
th minute when
Sasha Thompson got open in the box and scored on a feed from
Katie Yankey. It was Thompson's second goal of the season as well as Yankey's second assist.
Drake tied the match with a penalty kick goal from Emma Nagel in the 70
th minute. Both teams would have scoring opportunities near the end of regulation and through overtime but would not convert as the match ended in a draw.
Indiana State finished with 15 shot attempts led by
CeCe Wahlberg who had five and
Mackenzie Kent who had four.
Maddie Alexander made five saves on the night.

Sasha Thompson (two goals, two assists) are now tied for the team lead with six points on the season. Junior midfielder
CeCe Wahlberg leads the team with 29 shot attempts and 19 of those being on goal which are both top three in the MVC.
Kent, Wahlberg and Thompson are all tied for the team lead with two goals each.
Kloe Pettigrew,
Katie Yankey and
Alexa Mackey have all logged over 1,000 minutes this season.
The Sycamores were recently awarded with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2020-21 season. This is the third consecutive year Indiana State has received this award and the 16
th overall. They achieved a 3.77 GPA as a team.
The Opponent
Evansville comes to Memorial Stadium with a 5-2-4 record after a 3-1 loss to Loyola on Wednesday night.
This will be the 25
th matchup between the two schools. Evansville leads the series 14-8-2. Indiana State won the most recent matchup last spring with a 1-0 shutout at Evansville. The Sycamores have a 6-3-2 record in matches played at Memorial Stadium.
The Aces are led by senior Forward Emily Ormson who is tied for the MVC lead with five goals on the season. She ranks in the top five in both shots (25) and shots on goal (17). Senior midfielder Alex Eyler leads the team with four assists which is tied for second most in the conference. Fifth year goalkeeper Michaela Till has made 52 saves to go along with three shutouts.
Chris Pfau is in his second season of his second stint as the head coach of Evansville. Pfau also coached the team from 2005 to 2007. He has a record of 37-28-11 with the Aces and has had 24 players receive All-MVC honors during his tenure.

The Sycamores will be back on the road next Saturday as they head to Cedar Falls, Iowa to take on Northern Iowa. Kick-off is set for 2 p.m. ET at UNI Soccer Field.
