TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer will begin their conference slate on Friday as they travel to Chicago for an 8 p.m. ET match against Loyola at Loyola Soccer Park.
The Sycamores fell 3-0 to Saint Louis on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Stadium as they wrapped up non-conference play.
Freshman forward
Mackenzie Kent leads the team with six points (two goals, two assists) through the first eight matches. Junior midfielder
CeCe Wahlberg is third in the MVC with 13 shots on goal.
Loyola is entering Friday's contest with a 4-2-1 record. They are coming off a 2-1 loss to No. 23 Xavier on Sunday. The Ramblers are coached by Barry Bimbi who enters his 11
th season at the helm. He has led the team to three straight MVC regular season and tournament championships.
Junior forward Megan Nemec, who was named to the MAC Hermann Award Watch List before the season leads the team with eight points (three goals, two assists). Senior midfielder Abby Swanson was also named to the list. The MAC Hermann Award is given to the Division I National Player of the Year voted on by the coaches.
Ramblers senior goalkeeper Maddie Hausmann leads the MVC in shutouts with four as well as goals against average with a percentage of .831. Junior defender Olivia Knab is second in the conference with three assists on the year.
