CHARLESTON, Ill. – Indiana State softball is set to hit the road for Charleston, Ill. for a midweek nonconference matchup with Eastern Illinois on Tuesday, Apr. 6. The Sycamores will open the doubleheader at 4 p.m. ET with game two set at 6 p.m. ET.
Spectators at Williams Field will be limited.

The Panthers leads the all-time series, 46-31, over Indiana State. The two teams last met in 2019 when the Sycamores earned a doubleheader sweep, claiming victories of 6-4 and 5-4 over EIU.Â

- Dominant Pitching
Sophomore Lexi Benko was dominant for the Sycamores as they swept Valparaiso over the weekend. The right-hander threw eight innings, posting a perfect ERA only giving up a trio of hits while recording a career-high seven strikeouts and earning her first career complete game shutout, pacing ISU to the 10-0 victory.
- Blazing Bats
Isabella Henning and TeAnn Bringle led the Sycamores offense in series sweep of Valparaiso. The duo each posted a .500 batting average with Henning recording a double and two home runs in addition to driving in four runs while posting a 1.200 slugging percentage. Bringle recorded a season high two hits in a game, hitting her first home run of the year and driving in three runs while posting a .875 slugging percentage.
- Scouting Eastern Illinois
The Panther hold an overall record of 17-10 and 10-6 in the Ohio Valley. Eastern Illinois has a team batting average of .286 with 72 extra-base hits. The Panther pitching staff has a 3.49 ERA through 166.2 innings of action. Morgan Lewis leads EIU with a .344 average and ten RBIs. Olivia Price has a 7-3 record on the mound and a 2.87 ERA in nine starts.Â
