ST. LOUIS – Indiana State's
Lauren Green has been named to the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team, the League office announced Wednesday (April 29). The MVC Scholar-Athlete Team is determined by a vote of the league's women's golf communications directors.
Green earned All-Conference honors after finishing fourth at the MVC Championships. She entered the MVC tournament with one of the league's best stroke averages, carding a scoring average of 78.3 through 16 rounds this year. Green claimed two top-10 finishes this season as well as a top-5 finish while tying for the team lead with a low-round score of 74 at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate.
It marks the second consecutive season that Green has been named to the First Team. The Merseyside, England native carries a 3.87 GPA in Sport Management.
The criteria for the MVC scholar-athlete team parallels the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) standards for Academic All-America® program. Nominees must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale), while the student-athletes must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institutions and must have participated in at least 50 percent of her team's rounds.
