Sycamore Soccer Adds One More for Class of 2021

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State head soccer coach Julie Hanley announced the addition of one more student-athlete, Maddie Helling, to the recruiting class of 2021, bringing the Sycamores' 2021 class to eight athletes.
 
Maddie Helling – Union, Mo. (Union HS) – Defender/Midfielder
Four-year letterwinner for the Wildcats…Member of MSHSAA Class 3 fourth-place team in 2019 and 2018…Named Second Team All-State in 2019…2019 First Team All-Region and Co-Defender of the Year All-Region…Named to First Team All-Conference during 2019 season…2019 Honorable Mention All-Conference honoree…In club, National League White Division U17 champion in 2019…2019 Member of National Playoffs qualifying team…Named to US Youth Soccer Best XI Midwest Conference in 2019…Varsity Tri-Athlete Award four years, also lettered in basketball and volleyball…All-District for basketball in 2019…Honorable Mention All-Area for volleyball in 2019…Honorable Mention All-Conference for volleyball in 2019 and 2018.

"We are thrilled to add Maddie to our 2021 class," Hanley said. "She is a two-sport athlete that comes from a great club in St. Louis. Maddie will add immediate depth to our back line and joins a class that will impact our program immensely both on and off the field."
 
Helling joins Nora Henderson, Mackenzie Kent, Olivia Lovell, Alexa Mackey, Caitlin Mullen, Tara Tesmond and Chloe Tesny as a member of the 2021 recruiting class.
