ST. LOUIS -- An Indiana State program-best seven women's soccer players earned All-Missouri Valley Conference honors, the Valley announced Friday morning.
 
In all, the Sycamores collected nine MVC postseason honors, the most in the 21-year history of the program.
 
The duo of Chloee Kooker and CeCe Wahlberg were both named to the All-MVC First Team following strong sophomore campaigns. Wahlberg sits at third in the MVC in total shots (32) and shots per game (2.3) while also sitting at seventh in shots on goal (12). She is also tied for second in the league with two game-winning goals and is 10th with .50 points per game.
 
Kooker appeared and started in all 10 matches for the Trees during the 2021 spring season, recording 895 minutes of action, including at least 90 minutes in nine of their 10 games. The sophomore recorded three shots throughout the course of the year, with two coming in the MVC Tournament semi-final against Valparaiso.
 
A trio of Sycamores also earned Honorable Mention All-MVC honors this season including Maddie Alexander, Kloe Pettigrew and Sidney Ewing. In addition to earning Honorable Mention honors, Alexander and Pettigrew were also named to the All-Freshman team alongside Audrey Stephens and Katie Yankey.
 
Just a freshman, Alexander has already made an impression as one of the top goalies in the Missouri Valley Conference. She recorded the second-best season in Sycamore history with six shutouts, trailing only Erin Mitchell who tallied seven during the 2012 season. She is second in the Valley in total shutouts (6), total saves (51) an saves per game (5.1).
 
Pettigrew, who was also earned both Honorable Mention and All-Freshman honors, started in all 10 matches for the Blue & White, not missing a single minute of play, logging 928 minutes of action. She ended the year with one shot on goal in a victory over Southern Illinois on Mar. 5.
 
In addition to Alexander and Pettigrew, Ewing earned her third MVC honor after named to the All-Freshman Team in 2018 and earning Honorable Mention honors during the 2019 season. The junior played in all 10 matches for the Trees, starting in seven and recording 455 minutes. She ended her season with four points after tallying two assists, the 10th-best number in the MVC, on the year and a game-winning goal against Evansville on Apr. 7. Both of her shot attempts during the season were on goal.
 
On the All-Freshman team, Stephens is tied with Wahlberg for the second-most game-winning goals in the MVC at two, one coming against Missouri State on Mar. 28 and the other against Northern Iowa on Apr. 3. The freshman played in all 10 matches on the year, starting in five while posting five shot attempts on the year, two of which were on goal.
 
Katie Yankey was also named to the All-Freshman team after an impressive freshman campaign where she saw action in all 10 matches. She posted two goals on the year with one coming against Drake on Feb. 28 and the other versus Loyola Chicago on Mar. 24. During her 442 minutes of competition, Yankey recorded five shots with three ending on goal.
