CARBONDALE, Ill. – Following a split with Northern Iowa last weekend, Indiana State volleyball will continue their mid-season road swing this Sunday and Monday (Mar. 7-8) in Carbondale, Ill., with matches against Southern Illinois.

Sunday's match is slated to begin at 2 p.m. ET while Monday's match will begin at 4 p.m. ET. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.

HISTORIC SUNDAY
Sunday marked the first time in Indiana State history that the Sycamores defeated Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. The dramatic 3-2 comeback victory snapped a nine-game losing skid to the Panthers and also marked the first time since Sept. 9, 2014 that Indiana State won a match it trailed 2-0 on the road, with the last instance occurring at IUPUI. In addition to earning the first win at UNI in Sycamore history,Â
Melina Tedrow became the 11th member of the 1,000 Dig Club at Indiana State with her fifth dig of the match in the second set. The junior libero ended her evening with 18 digs, pushing her career total to 1,013, the 10th-best number in Sycamore history.

GIANT KILLERS
With a split at Northern Iowa last weekend, Sycamore women's volleyball can officially boast victories over each of the the top-three teams in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll. Earlier this season the Trees split with both Illinois State and Loyola Chicago in the ISU Arena who were ranked second and third in the Valley, respectively.

DIGGING IN
The Sycamore defense managed to put together two strong defensive matches in a split with Northern Iowa. Tedrow is currently 31st in the NCAA with 5.77 digs per set and Indiana State as a team averages 18.52 digs per set, the 16th-best number in the nation. Indiana State's 80-dig performance in a three set-match with Bradley is still the fourth-best number in the NCAA for a three-set match.

OFFENSIVE CHANGES
Last season Indiana State saw themselves towards the bottom of every major offensive statistical category. This season, ISU is third in the Valley in hitting percentage at .191 and is fourth in kills per set at 12.77. ISU also holds the second-best mark in the nation of total attacks in a three-set match with 163 from their Feb. 15 match with Bradley. They also have the fifth-best mark in the NCAA of total attacks in a four-set match from their Feb. 14 match with Bradley when they tallied 201. The Trees are also 10th in the nation in team attacks per set at 40.20.

STREAK EXTENDED
With 37 digs in a series with UNI last weekend,
Melina Tedrow increased her streak of recording 10+ digs to 22 games.
