TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State looks to continue its best start to Missouri Valley Conference play in program history with a Wednesday afternoon match, welcoming MVC leader Loyola to ISU Memorial Stadium for a 1 p.m. match.
- By taking down Illinois State last week, the Sycamores secured their best start to MVC play (3-1) in program history, as well as the program's first win over the Redbirds in Normal.

CeCe Wahlberg scored her team-leading second goal of the season in the 79th minute of the Sycamores' 2-0 victory over Illinois State. The midfielder leads the Valley in shots per game (3.40), and game-winning goals (2), and is fourth in both shots on goal (1.50) and points (.80) per game.
- Scoring her first career goal in Indiana State's 2-0 victory over Illinois State was sophomore
Anna Holcombe. The midfielder blasted a free kick from just outside the 18 in the 82nd minute to put the Sycamores ahead 2-0.
- Wahlburg became the third consecutive Sycamore to earn a MVC Player of the Week nod last week, earning the Offensive Player of the Week after registering a goal, seven total shots, and three on goal in two matches.

Maddie Alexander registered her third clean sheet in four Valley matches against Illinois State, making eight saves against the the Redbirds on 17 total shots.

Chloee Kooker (DPOW) in earning MVC Player of the Week honors this season.
- Alexander earned MVC Freshman of the Week March 9 for her shutout in the Sycamores' defeat of Southern Illinois. It was the Battle Creek, Mich. native's second consecutive shutout, making six saves on eight total shots.
- Kooker was named MVC Defensive Player of the Week March 2 after anchoring the ISU defense at center back, helping produce the Sycamores' first clean sheet in Valley play since October 23, 2016.
MATCH PREVIEW
- ISU returns to play after an 11-day break from its last match, while Loyola took down Illinois State Sunday, March 21, 3-2.
- Indiana State and Loyola have played one another 11 times in program history.
- Two of ISU's victories over LUC have come in the friendly confines of Memorial Stadium, most recently in head coach
Julie Hanley's first season of 2016.
- In that match, the Sycamores took down the Ramblers 1-0 thanks to a header in the 62nd minute from Maddie Orf. Katie Wells set up the play with a steal and long run, and her cross in the box met Orf for the senior's sixth goal of the campaign.
- Most recently, Loyola defeated Indiana State 2-1 in the 2019 season. The Ramblers scored in the match's fifth minute, but the Sycamores pulled even in the 24th thanks to a goal by
Sidney Ewing that was assisted by
CeCe Wahlberg. LUC scored the go-ahead tally three minutes later, and ISU was never able to pull even again.
